Final Design 1

Soooooo, I'm a bit rusty at drawing hair, who would have thought it.

I knew that within all three of my designs I was going to have the following elements:

- Crimped hair
- Half up and Half Down

It was just going to be a case of whatever was happening on top would be changing.

Design One:

I really love Dutch Braids. I adore how chunky they are. I wanted an alice band effect from one at the front along the hairline. I liked the effect padding give when I used my Katie head and I decided for this design I was going to want a heart shape. I knew through practicing, that this could be achieved by crimping all of the hair and then sectioning into two and putting these two sections into rats.

During a technical session in which we learnt how to rick-rack, I decided to curl the bottom of the rick-racked section. I fell in love with this. It was the right amount of messy and with the newly added curl it added a certain amount of delicacy to the design.

I want strands pulled out on this Dutch braid to make the design look pulled apart because it'll suit the Lady in Waiting brief I'm doing.

With the left over red hair (because I don't think it'll all need to go into the rats) will be secured in a bun at the back.

It was the use of chunky plaits in this photo that inspired part of my design:
