Decorating The Hair
It really is as easy as it sounds. Taking basic techniques like plating the hair, or putting it into a bun you can add elements to it to make the hair decorated.Plaits:
While doing plaits you can add:- Ribbons
- String
- Material
- Additional hair
When the plaits are done you can weave a ribbon through them to make a pattern.
Even in the style of plaits you can create a design. You can use plaits to create shapes.
Beads and Pearls
If these are on a hook, you can gently hook them into the hair. Strings of pearls and beads can be wrapped around buns, weaved into plaits.
This is an example of how I decorated my Katie Head.
By using plaits, I was able to mould them and shape them using pins. These created interesting shapes. Which make the design look more intricate than it actually is. I did a dutch braid across the hair line which acted as an anchor the band with beads on it.
The main plait down the center has a green piece of ribbon in it. You can see flashes of it at the back.
